The Witch tells the Shadow what to do to save herself and Dawn, and also warns her that she must make haste since without her shadow, Dawn will only live until sunrise. Dawn’s Shadow sneaks into Beast’s castle with intention to kill the Beast but changes her mind and takes a leap into the creature’s dreamworld. There she meets the imprisoned Woodcutter. The Shadow speaks with the man and understands his feelings. She shows compassion and apologizes for Dawn’s behaviour. This breaks the curse and sets the Woodcutter free. Unfortunately, the morning is upon them and Dawn is dead. The Shadow mourns her. But as the first rays of the rising sun touch the Shadow, she becomes corporeal, whereas Dawn’s former body becomes her shadow. |

I ended up with a sock puppet-like character because I felt that it would be a fun style to work with for my vision, and would be relatively easy to draw over and over again. |
