"In Saltriver, in the comfort of his own home, an overworked and sleepy Bob accidently spills his coffee on his computer, glitching and plunging his Tour Guide Advert into the vast darkness of space. Instead of attracting tourists, his advert attracts curious extra-terrestrials. Hectic. Fearful of their motives, Bob reluctantly takes them on his tour around Cape Town. However, tensions defrost as he realizes they might not be as threatening as they seem, just a little mischievous. Friendships form through their otherworldly antics, and Bob’s business takes an unexpected intergalactic turn into success. "

"Growing up all over CPT, Daena was glued to the TV screen, watching all sorts of cartoons. Wanting to have cartoons more relatable to home, she realized that there’s a need for more South African representation. Unexpected Visitors is a story about home, by home, for home, with intentions to promote national pride. The film is unapologetically Capetonian, sporting the city’s vibrant colours and historical buildings in a quirky manner to support the humor. - only achievable through animation The humor is stereotypical and, on the nose, like many of the classic Cape coloured jokes. -giving the film the feel of home"
